February 26, 2010 – KSPE/ASCE Engineering Banquet
The Bluegrass Chapter of KSPE and the Bluegrass Branch of ASCE will
once again sponsor the Engineering Banquet. As in the past, new PE's will
be honored. This is wonderful opportunity for fellowship and to reconnect

March 19, 2010 – Bluegrass Branch Meeting
Join us as we learn about and take a tour of UK's Zero House. Please

April 22-24, 2010 - OVSC
The UK Student Chapter of ASCE will be hosting the 2010 Ohio Valley
Student Conference where up to 16 schools will be competing in events
such as concrete canoe, steel bridge, surveying, water quality testing, and
technical paper presentation. There will also be a career fair associated
with the conference. Volunteers and sponsors are needed. To find out

May 21, 2010 – Bluegrass Branch Meeting

Water Company's new water plant in Owenton, KY starting at noon.

January 22, 2010 – Bluegrass Branch/UK Student Chapter Joint
Meeting & Mini Career Fair
Once again, the Bluegrass Branch and UK Student Chapters experienced
a great turn out for both students and companies for the joint meeting and
career fair. Approx. 40 juniors and seniors met with companies after a
short business meeting and lunch. Thanks for everyone's hard work in
preparing for this event!
December 18, 2009 – Angle Tree
More than 10 members of the Bluegrass Branch volunteered their time to
help out the Angel Tree project again this year. We thank all those who

November 20, 2009 – Bluegrass Branch Meeting
The Bluegrass Branch welcomed Mr. Mark Day who discussed the
construction project currently under way at Blue Grass Airport. Over 20
members attending the meeting where box lunches were provided. After
the meeting, Mark took the Bluegrass Branch on a tour of the airfield.

October 9, 2009 – Kentucky Section Annual Meeting
The Bluegrass Branch hosted the 2009 ASCE Kentucky Section Annual
Meeting at the Embassy Suites in Lexington, KY.
September 25, 2009 – Bluegrass Branch Meeting
The Bluegrass Branch welcomed Erin Wagoner who discussed her recent
mission for Engineers Without Borders. Over 20 members attended the
meeting where box lunches were provided. The interest was very high and
several engineers are interested in helping on the next mission. Please

May 22, 2009 – Bluegrass Branch Meeting
The Bluegrass Branch welcomed Linda Bridwell of Kentucky American
Water Company who discussed Lexington's new water treatment plant and
the transmission main. Over 20 members attended the meeting where box
lunches were provided. The branch membership also voted in the 2009-
2010 officers.
February 27, 2009 – Annual Engineering Banquet
On Friday, February 27 ASCE joined with KSPE to celebrate the
Engineering profession in our annual banquet. This is the 4th year for the
banquet, and despite the state of the economy we had our best turnout
and sponsorship. Thanks to KSPE for their continued sponsorship and to
all of our members for making this a continued success.
February 15-21, 2009 – E-Week
Our E-week volunteer event at local area schools was a big success –
thanks to the efforts of all of our volunteers, and the teachers who helped
make it happen. Branch member volunteers made school visits to several
different schools during E-week, and reports back indicated the students
really embraced what engineers do. We had our best ever turn-out for
volunteers, which meant we could visit more classes than ever before!
Great job everyone.
January 30, 2009 – Bluegrass Branch Meeting
We had a great turn out for the annual joint meeting with the UK Student
Chapter and Mini Career Fair. Several companies set up tables and
discussed the career paths of UK juniors and seniors. Thanks to
everyone's hard work.
Jarretts Joy Cart
The Bluegrass Branch collected several toys once again for Jarretts Joy
Cart. Thanks to all of the companies and individuals that graciously
donated to this worthy cause.
December 5, 2008 – Bluegrass Branch Meeting
The Bluegrass Branch supplied more than 15 volunteers to help out with
the Angel Tree Program this year. Pizza was provided for our members as
well as the workers with the Salvation Army.

October 17, 2008 – Bluegrass Branch Meeting
Ben Edelen discussed the improvements being conducted in and around
the Kentucky Horse Park in anticipation for the 2010 World Equestrian

Dudley Webb, president of Webb Companies discussed the Centrepoint
project in downtown Lexington with more than 80 members of ASCE and

May 16, 2008 – Bluegrass Branch Meeting
A tour of the Lock and Dam #9 project on the Kentucky River was held
with Jeff Dingrando. More than 20 members attended the meeting and
tour, which was kicked off by a vote on the 2008-2009 Branch Officers. To

April 18, 2008 – Bluegrass Branch Meeting
Marcie Matthews was our guest and discussed her experiences in her 20+
years with KYTC, as well as her thoughts on the state of KYTC and future
projects. The meeting was held at Malone's Banquets and was attended
by approximately 22 members.
March 21, 2008 – Bluegrass Branch Meeting
Keith Lovan lead a discussion of the Greenways project and the efforts to
revitalize the downtown Lexington area. The meeting was attended by
approximately 40 members of both the Bluegrass Chapter of KSPE and
the Bluegrass Branch of ASCE. Box lunches were provided by Heavenly
Ham.
February 17-23, 2008 – E-Week

February 8, 2008 – Annual Engineering Banquet
On Friday, February 8 ASCE joined with KSPE to celebrate the
Engineering profession in our annual banquet. ASCE honored 3 members
with Life Memberships; Dr. Donn Hancher, Dr. Jerry Rose, and Mr.
Gordon Krist. The level of membership is given to those that have served
ASCE for 25 consecutive years. Congratulations!
January 25, 2008 – Bluegrass Branch Meeting
We had a great turn out for the annual joint meeting with the UK Student
Chapter and Mini Career Fair. Several companies set up tables and
discussed the career paths of UK juniors and seniors. This was by far the
most successful joint event in several years. Thanks to everyone's hard
work, especially Jason Maxwell.
December 21, 2007 – Jarrett's Joy Cart
The Branch once again collected and delivered gifts and cash donations
for Jarrett's Joy Cart. Due to the surplus the Branch had from the Annual
Meeting, a donation of $200 was given this year. Thanks to everyone for
their participation!
December 14, 2007 – Bluegrass Branch Meeting
15 members attended the annual Angel Tree Community Service project.
Pizza was provided by the branch and everyone chipped in to either sort
gifts or "shop" for under-privaledged families. At last count, the Branch
had gathered Christmas gifts for 54 children. Thanks to everyone who
came out for this wonderful cause.
November 16, 2007 – Bluegrass Branch Meeting
18 members attended the November meeting at Sal's to hear a
presentation on University of Louisville’s work with Engineers Without
Borders. Erin Wagoner & Ben Myser discussed their past work and
detailed upcoming projects. They also stressed the need for participation
and support from the professional community, both in the form of money
as well as mentoring.
October 5, 2007 – Annual Section Meeting
121 members from all across Kentucky braved the rainy weather to come
out to the 2007 Annual Section Meeting at the Embassy Suites in
Lexington.
A total of 8 presentations were held throughout the day with the Annual
Awards Luncheon being held at noon. The 2007-2008 Kentucky Section
Officers were elected and installed as well.
Sponsors included FMSM, Palmer, EHI Consultants, HDR/Quest, Lochner,
and Tetra Tech. Exhibitors included ADS Pipe, Contech Bridge Solutions,
Geobrugg, Lee Brick & Block, Lynn Imaging, Oldcastle Precast, PAIKY,
and Sherman Dixie Concrete.

September 21, 2007 – Bluegrass Branch Meeting
21 members attended the September meeting at the LFUCG Traffic
Management Center for a presentation and demonstration on Lexington's
state of the art traffic management system. Steve Cummins graciously
hosted the meeting and led not only an informative but entertaining
discussion. The 2007-2008 Bluegrass Branch Officers were also installed
at the meeting by Dr. Scott Yost, current 2006-2007 Kentucky Section
President. Lunch was provided from Heavenly Ham.
