Welcome the ASCE Bluegrass Branch website.
March 19, 2010 – Bluegrass Branch Meeting
Please join us this Friday, March 19 at noon in the downstairs conference
room at the Central Library in downtown Lexington for this month's ASCE
meeting.  See
http://www.lexpublib.org/location/central-library for parking
and location information.

The focus of the meeting will be a technical presentation of "International
Code Council Special Inspections" and attendees will be awarded 1 PDH.
In 2007, the Commonwealth of Kentucky adopted the 2007 Kentucky
Building Code (2007 KBC), an adaptation of the International Building
Code (IBC) to develop a set of codes and standards for residential and
commercial construction. The Kentucky Building Code is a living
document, evolving with new technology and advancements in the
industry, with the ultimate goal of creating safe buildings and communities.

The presentation will provide an overview of when Special Inspections are
required, define Special Inspections items and how to develop a Special
Inspections program, define the duties of your Special Inspector, and
outline ways that a Special Inspections program on your project may
reduce the Design Professional's liability exposure.

Please
register by 5:00 PM on Wednesday, March 17

Lunch will be catered and the cost is $10.00.  If you prefer a vegetarian or
Lenten option, please indicate your preference with your reservation.
